Values: What Matters Most

Values are what you won’t compromise on in love or life. Here’s how to spot them. Ask yourself: What are my 2–3 non-negotiable values in a relationship?

Example:

  1. Value family → need regular time with loved ones.

  2. Value growth → need encouragement to learn.

  3. Value health → need shared wellness habits.

Needs: What Makes You Feel Secure

Needs are the everyday ways you feel safe and cared for.

The work is learning to:

  1. Meet your own needs (self-soothing, self-care, grounding).

  2. Name the needs a partner can meet (consistency, respect, connection).

Security comes when you can do both: care for yourself and communicate clearly with others.

Attachment shapes how you express your Needs. Values shape which Needs matter most. Together, they create your relationship compass.
